Norwood Auto Service is a family owned auto repair shop located in the Norwood Park neighborhood of Chicago, proudly serving local drivers since 1989. Founded by Fred Scheidt, the shop was built on decades of hands on experience, as Fred worked as a professional mechanic at the same location for more than 20 years before becoming the owner. With over 50 years of service in Norwood Park, Norwood Auto Service has earned a strong reputation for honest auto repair, accurate diagnostics, and dependable vehicle maintenance. In February 2025, ownership passed to Fred’s son, Erik Scheidt, who continues the family tradition of trusted automotive care. Erik has worked in the shop for over 20 years and brings extensive experience in brake repair, oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, suspension repair including shocks and struts, and preventative maintenance.
